The infernal is a race combining pleasure, friendship and sport. It spans a day and ends with a convivial meal, punctuated by a Rock concert.
What: The Infernal Race
When: Saturday 16-March-2019
Where: Bruson (Verbier)
The Race
Inspired by the famous obstacle courses known as the “Tough Mudder” and the “Spartan Race”, William Besse, national hero and champion skier (winner of the World Cup at Wengen), came up with the idea of creating a winter version with a humorous twist at his Bruson resort. His dream became a reality in January 2018. After a mass start, competitors face five disciplines – running, super-G slalom, giant slalom, skating and special slalom. After each section, they must negotiate different obstacles of varying difficulty such as snow tunnels, tyre walls, winding forest paths, etc. On this 4.5km course, the fastest competitors can get to the finish line in 6–7 minutes. Individually or as a team, the race is open to children and adults of all ages and entertainment provided by the host village will add to the party atmosphere on this fun-filled day

A word from the President
“Hello everyone !
It is with pleasure that I take the pen to explain my motivations to create this event.
After more than 13 years of competition at the highest level and 15 years in teaching, I realized that very often, in any sport or event, the notion of pleasure is obscured by that of performance. It is this trend that I would like to reverse and so privilege friendship, the pleasure of sharing together a day of skiing like no other! This race connects between her, a super G, giant, slalom, part road with some obstacles.
Then, it’s time to share a meal and the glass of friendship by listening to a small rock concert in a relaxed atmosphere. The most fun and the most disguised team, the best costumed, will be given an awesome prize !!! Even if a category “pro” for fans of the time exists, the idea is above all to have fun on skis, and have a good time.
I hope that the concept seduces you, I count on you to meet on March 16, 2019 on the field of Bruson!
May the party be beautiful!
William Besse”
