Organised fun for the little ones, leaving you to enjoy your freedom
A Ski Armadillo chalet holiday is perfectly suited to families and we make children more than welcome. Making sure the children have fun in a warm safe environment is key to giving everyone a fantastic holiday and a true family holiday. This allows you to enjoy your time on (or off) the piste to the maximum. We recommend you call the Armadillo office (+44 1799 586652) so we can recommend which family chalet is best suited for you and how. We aim to be as flexible as possible so please do flag your concerns and we will tailor your stay with Ski Armadillo accordingly.
Meal Times Your chalet host or chef will serve high tea for children at around 18h00 (or later if you require). The menus are adaptable and your host or chef will discuss with you your children’s likes and dislikes upon arrival. Chalet hosts and chefs can also make infant purees as required.
Equipment All of our chalets are equipped with travel cots (note we do not provide travel cot laundry) and high chairs. Steriliser’s and toys are available upon request, at an additional charge. Prior to your departure we can shop on your behalf for nappies and formula milk if you do not want to travel with it. (Please check before departure on what brands are available in resort).
Private Nanny Service Fully qualified nannies work 8 hours a day, five days a week. Timings are flexible and we recommend that these hours are confirmed in advance. Your nanny will come to the chalet on the evening of your arrival to meet you and you and your children and get to know the children and chat through your requirements and the week ahead. We can also arrange for you to speak directly with your nanny before you travel to help with pre-departure arrangements. Each qualified nanny is allowed to look after:
- TWO Infants aged 6 months-2 years, or
- THREE children aged 2 and over, or
- FOUR children aged 5 and over

Your qualified nanny will care for your children in the comfort of your chalet whilst using the wider facilities of Ski Armadillo and Verbier (with your permission). This includes the Verbier playground, sports center, swimming pool, husky sledging, ice-skating, etc. If your child has ski lessons booked with one of our ski school partners, then our nanny can help with the pick up and drop off.
If the weather is suitable then walks, bubble trips, sledging and snowman building are all available. Arrangements can also be made for your nanny to bring the children to meet you at a mutually accessible restaurant for lunch should you so wish. Our chalets have a good selection of games, books and materials for creative play such as drawing and baking and other messy play.
Creche (3 months to 3 years old) Les Schtroumpfs (“The Smurfs”) is an English speaking (Swiss run) crèche available daily from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm. Situated in the centre of town at Le Moulin, our minibuses can facilitate pick up and drop off for chalets that include the driver service, however parents will need to attend at these times. Les Schtroumpfs will take children from 3 months to 3 years old.
Please contact us to book. 3 to 6 Years European Snowsport’s Penguins is where children will fall in love with skiing. Qualified and dedicated instructors will provide them with a fun and interesting introduction to skiing, teaching in a safe and enjoyable environment. A morning lesson is from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm, or alternatively a week of morning lessons, Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm are available.
