But what’s the snow like at Christmas?
Both Verbier and Meribel typically offer a wonderful Christmas skiing experience, due to both being high-altitude ski resorts. The combination of natural snow and snowmaking ensures optimal conditions over the festive period. The snow depth on the lower slopes, around 1,400m – 1,800m tend to range between 50am-70cm by Christmas. However, between 2,000m – 2,800m, the snow depth is often more substantial, averaging 100-150cm at these high elevations. Remember, both Meribel, as part of the 3 Valleys, and Verbier, as part of the 4 valleys, offer skiing up to 3,230m and 3,330m respectively. So aim high this Christmas!
