As far as ski resorts go, the world-famous Verbier ticks all the boxes; with people returning year after year for first class skiing – or boarding if that’s your bag – an abundance of sunshine, renowned aprés-ski and the outstanding range of restaurants, bars and spa facilities.
For anyone returning or planning to visit our gorgeous resort, we have a perfect itinerary to ensure you have a wonderful stay and receive the best possible experience with Ski Armadillo.
9am | After a delicious cooked breakfast, prepared for you by one of our expert chefs, it’s time to hit the slopes and make the most of the snow and sunshine! Being linked to the 4 Vallées Verbier forms one of the largest ski areas in Switzerland, with over 410km of piste runs; so there’s plenty to choose from. We recommend starting the day with a challenge, by heading to the highest peak – Mont Fort at 3300m – skiing down from Attelas and via La Chaux; to make sure you’re warmed up and invigorated!
Stop and take in the stunning 360° panoramic views across Verbier and over to The Matterhorn, Dent d’Hérens, Grand Combin and Mont Blanc before tackling the mogul run down to Col des Gentianes-Tortin – one of Verbier’s itinerary routes – widely regarded as Europe’s longest mogul run.
11.30am | After a morning’s skiing, it’s time for a coffee break. So sit back and relax, soak up the sun and take in the scenery. We recommend visiting the popular Le Tipi de Siviez; a charming restaurant/bar/al-fresco eating area just off the piste in a ski area called Siviez. Choose from a selection of alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, hot chocolates, plus light snacks and grab a deckchair and soak up the sunshine! What could be better?!
12.30pm | Re-energized, you’ll be ready for a few runs in Siviez, then it’s time to head back over to the Verbier side, by taking a series of chair lifts and cable cars. Once back, treat yourself to some fantastic runs through the main ski runs in Verbier, using the ‘James Blunt’ lift to lap the area; or for a slightly longer run, the Mayzonette lift.
1.45pm | Now, what’s a day of skiing without a hearty lunch complimented by bottles of rosé in the sun?! One of the most popular and best-loved restaurants on the mountain has to be Le Dahu – we can’t miss it out! Le Dahu offers a charming ambience and a mixture of traditional local Swiss delicacies alongside Italian food; not to mention the stunning views across the mountain/glacier landscape. Another restaurant worth a visit is Le Mouton Noir, with its awesome views, varied menu, champagne bar, and DJ booth. Sit outside and enjoy al-fresco dining experience as the paragliders loop down, catching the thermals overhead.
4.15pm | Verbier not only excels in reputation for skiing and boarding but also for its aprés-ski and leisure facilities. After a long day on the slopes, visit the best spa in Verbier at the W Hotel, enjoying full use of the spa; including the beautiful heated indoor and outdoor pools, massage treatments, sauna and use of the state-of-the-art gym. If drinking, music and dancing are more your scene, you’re spoilt for choice. We recommend a few drinks at Ice Cube – to watch the setting sun – then skiing down to Le Rouge for more party action. Purchase the famous ski shots and enjoy the DJ sets – Le Rouge has it all.
6pm | Head back to your chalet and enjoy freshly made cake and coffee before a hot shower and prepare for the evening. Your chef will have been preparing a fabulous three course dinner for you, to be served with a selection of red and white wines, chosen to complement the menu.
9.30pm | Any energy left? Yes, great! Verbier is a thriving place during the day, but it truly comes alive at night. With some of the best nightlife, bars and clubs in all of the European ski resorts; a night out in Verbier won’t disappoint! Visit the well-known Farínet for live music, T-Bar for great cocktails or À Fer Cheval to experience one of Verbiers most loved restaurant/bar. Or you could finish at the famous Farm Club which has attracted royalty and celebrities for decades, and dance until the early hours!
